  • Task types A variety of questions are used, selected from the following types; multiple-choice credentials, identification of views / claims of the writer, corresponding to information, the corresponding titles, characteristics corresponding correspondent end of sentence, sentence completion, summary completion, the note completion, table completion, flowchart completion, completion label diagram, the short answer.
  • Sources The texts are excerpts from books, journals, magazines and newspapers and were written for a lay audience. All subjects are of general interest. They deal with issues that are interesting, recognizable appropriate and accessible to people tested entering undergraduate or postgraduate courses or seeking professional registration. The passages may be in a variety of styles, for example, narrative, descriptive or discursive / argumentative. At least one text contains detailed logical argument. Texts may contain non-verbal materials such as diagrams, graphs or illustrations. If the texts contain technical terms then a simple glossary is provided. Reply Test takers must transfer their answers to an answer sheet. Test takers must transfer their answers during the time of the test. No extra time is allowed for the transfer. Care should be taken when writing answers on the answer sheet as poor spelling and grammar are penalized
